Columbus Region Logistics Council Announces Women in Logistics Scholarship
Initial Funding Lead by CaaStle

Columbus, Ohio (October 7, 2019)- The Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Columbus Region Logistics Council’s Women in Logistics group has announced a scholarship to fund the education of women studying in the logistics and supply chain programs at Columbus State Community College in an effort to grow the advancement opportunities for Central Ohio women in logistics.

CaaStle, a leading technology and logistics company that powers subscription rental services, provided an initial $5,000 for the scholarship fund.  The scholarships will include $250 towards certification programs and $500 for degree programs. Scholarships will be awarded each year and include students entering their education, as well as women in the industry who are already employed.

“The logistics sector in Central Ohio continues to grow rapidly, with a near insatiable demand ranging from warehouse supervisors to c-suite executives,” said Adrian Burns, Directors of the Columbus Region Logistics Council. “We believe strongly that continuing to empower more women to fill these roles, in a traditionally male-dominated field, will elevate both individuals and the industry as a whole.”

In addition to the award, each recipient will be paired with a female mentor in the logistics industry.

The initial scholarship will be $750 per semester with hopes to continue to grow the fund and the number of recipients.

Donors and Recipients of the scholarship will be recognized each year at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Women in Logistics event.
