Prevent Blindness Ohio is a statewide nonprofit organization that aims to expand access to affordable vision care and educate Ohioans on the importance of regular vision care. Afterall, 50% of blindness is preventable.

Prevent Blindness Ohio’s mission is to prevent blindness and preserve sight. Our vision is to ensure Ohioans enjoy good sight for life.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

Learning opportunities and professional development.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

We are continually seeking education in public health and increasing access to care for people in need as well as trends in nonprofit growth and development.

What is your company culture like?

Our company culture is rooted in teamwork. Not only do our employees work together to achieve our mission, but our organization teams up with nearly 2,000 organizations across the state to help those in need access affordable vision care. Our organization relies on partnerships to reach Ohioans in need and achieves its strategic plan goals every year because of our partners on the ground.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

A successful employee at Prevent Blindness Ohio must possess a desire to help others and appreciate a workplace where duties detailed in their job description don’t always define what they may do on a given day. Employees must be willing to dive in and help each other out in order for the organization to be able to serve the community.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?

Columbus is an incredible community because of its diversity and so many people’s willingness to help out their neighbors and community.
