Columbus Chamber President & CEO Derrick R. Clay Elected Board President of the Athletic Club of Columbus

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Derrick R. Clay, President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber, has been elected Board President of the Athletic Club of Columbus (ACC) for the 2026–2027 term. 

Founded in 1912, the Athletic Club of Columbus has long served as a cornerstone institution in the region’s business, civic, and social landscape, bringing together leaders across industries and generations. Clay’s election reflects his continued commitment to strengthening community connections and advancing organizations that contribute to the vitality of the Columbus Region. 

“As a longtime member of the Athletic Club of Columbus, I am honored to serve as Board President and to help guide the Club during an important period of growth and transformation,” said Clay. “The ACC has played a significant role in bringing leaders together to build relationships and move our community forward. I look forward to working with the Board, leadership team, and members to continue that tradition while positioning the Club for the future.” 

In his role as Board President, Clay will work alongside ACC leadership and volunteer Board members to support strategic priorities, including the Club’s ACC 2030 initiative, which focuses on enhancing member experience, strengthening operations, and preparing the organization for long-term sustainability and growth. 

Clay has served as President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce since 2025, where he leads the organization’s efforts to convene, navigate, and advocate for the Columbus Region business community. Under his leadership, the Chamber continues to focus on economic growth, workforce development, and strengthening the Columbus Region’s competitive position.
