Vital, expressive, and unapologetically contemporary—this is jazz with a pulse and a point of view.
Led by bassist Devon Gates, the evening brings together four internationally recognized voices shaping today’s jazz landscape:
• Kalia Vandever – Trombone
• Marta Sanchez – Piano
• Lesley Mok – Drums
About the Artist
Devon Gates is a Brooklyn-based bassist, vocalist, and composer working at the intersection of jazz, chamber music, and social storytelling. A Harvard-trained anthropologist with Berklee-honed chops, Gates has collaborated widely across the modern jazz world and earned recognition for music that’s emotionally direct and structurally fearless.
