For almost 120 years, The Breathing Association has provided a lifeline of services, helping Central Ohioans breathe easier and improve their quality of life. We strive to break all possible barriers to affording household utilities, health and wellness, bringing equity to the families we serve. 

Tell us about your company’s mission and values

We provide resources and free assistance through education, detection, treatment and care, to our vulnerable Central Ohio residents in need. 

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

We are always seeking ways that we can be a part of the solution in the community, networking with others to care for as many residents as possible. 

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

The trends in nicotine and tobacco addiction are ever changing, and we strive to adapt cessation education to match the evolving trends. In addition, we learn more every day about the lung health conditions that affect so many, and the newest ways to ease suffering from the symptoms of them. 

What is your company culture like?

We are two services that work as one. We believe that when your utilities are taken care of and your health is attended to, there is a higher quality of life, and resources can be used in other areas of the household’s monthly expenses. 

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

Success is measured by customers and patients receiving the services they need, or the referrals to services provided by other community organizations. 

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?

Columbus is rich in variety of people, cultures, opportunities, and services. The nonprofit sector in Columbus is strong, compassionate and eager to care for our city’s most vulnerable.
