KLH Engineers (KLH) is nationally ranked among the top mechanical, electrical, plumbing and technology engineering firms. As a leader in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry, KLH leverages BIM and cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative and value-driven solutions. KLH serves the civic, commercial, education, healthcare and retail markets.

Tell us about your company’s mission and values.

KLH’s mission is to build quality relationships, environments and buildings centered around people. The spaces resulting from our work are more than just buildings; they are places of healing, learning, justice, entertainment, business, worship, commerce and more. Each space is unique as the people who populate them. This personalization of design drives our desire for innovation and exemplary client care.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

The Columbus Chamber has an amazing amount of resources and networking opportunities to help you expand your business connections throughout the region. I have found success in attending the many Chamber hosted events, including the CEO Insights, as a way to meet other leaders in the community.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

I stay engaged with trends by reading industry publications and attending  trainings, conferences and networking events. I also belong to several professional organizations including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Columbus, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Columbus, and the Central Ohio Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP). All of these organizations have great resources and networking opportunities for their members. In addition, I am very active in the community in the current class of Leadership Columbus and a member of the Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

What is your company culture like?

KLH’s vision is to foster a culture which prioritizes the employee, emphasizes teamwork, and encourages innovation both in the firm’s end products and internal processes. The firm urges its employees to be their authentic selves and continually works to cultivate an environment of inclusion and camaraderie through weekly lunch and learns, summer picnics, happy hours, annual campouts and a wide variety of office events. KLH is also very active in the community and provides volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Most recently, the team is donating our time to design the newest Habitat for Humanity ReStore that will open on Bethel Rd.

KLH has had a Columbus office for the past 10 years in the heart of the brewery district. Not only has it been exciting to watch its economy flourish, but to also play a role in creating the spaces in which its residents work, live and play, such as Easton Town Center, John Glenn Columbus International Airport and The Ohio State University, to list a few.
