Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services.
Haughn & Assoc. Inc is a privately owned and operated Independent insurance agency.  We were founded in 1986 with a focus in the construction industry. If you fast forward to today, we are a full-service agency licensed in 30 states. Our operating departments include: commercial lines, surety, employee benefits and life, personal lines and agriculture. Our clients range in size from 500mm international companies to the local family farmer.

Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
Our mission is to combine high quality insurance products with elite customer service utilizing our teams experience to provide innovative solutions and value-added services to our clients and prospects. We have set high standards of service and remain up to date on the latest insurance trends and regulations in all fields of expertise. Our success is measured by the satisfaction, retention, and referrals we receive from our client.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
Haughn and Associates is most excited about the partnership we have enjoyed with the Chamber over the past couple of years offering a MEWA Health Insurance program to chamber members.

We are proud to work with any association that looks to find solutions for its’ members problems.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
For us to stay competitive, useful and innovative we must always think outside of the box and figure out better ways to provide insurance solutions for our customers. I constantly challenge our teammates to think, research and learn about the products we sell so they can consult their customers to the best of their ability. From unique MEWA health solutions, programs for large property owners or offering self-insured retention programs, we look for solutions for our customers both big and small.

What is your company culture like?
We manage our agency more like a family than a business.  We believe in our values, transparency, ethics and teamwork to achieve our goals.  We truly feel that “all boats rise in a hightide” and everyone within our agency plays a valuable part in our success. Our team meets every Friday for lunch to discuss where we are and where we are going.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
Be part of the team.  We have found that employees who want to be on their own and not spend time collaborating with other team members do not last long here.  The teammate who ends up having several different responsibilities within our agency tends to succeed very well.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Columbus is truly a gem of a city.  We have unbelievable growth in so many different industries that create a tremendous amount of opportunity.  The Midwest culture of hard work, strong ethics and tenacity allows so many entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams of starting their own company in this great city.  I am truly excited to see and be a part of the growth and development that Columbus produces over the next 10 years.
