Gray Stripes Advisors provides comprehensive, value-added tax planning, financial planning, and CFO advisory services. We capitalize on today’s taxpayers’ desire for more than just a tax preparer to key numbers into a software and strive to have a forward-thinking advisory relationship with our clients. 

Tell us about your company’s mission and values

To give our clients realistic, but highly valuable, strategies to optimize their tax and financial planning to meet their individual needs and objectives. We are different from traditional public accounting firms in that we do not have transactional, once-a-year tax or financial statement engagements. Instead, we find that we add the most value for our clients by fostering a proactive rather than reactive approach to planning and the related compliance work. 

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

The incredibly valuable opportunities to network with and service the thriving small business community in the Columbus metropolitan area. 

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

There’s no shortage of literature about the pipeline problems in public accounting. Acknowledging that there are better ways of servicing clients that inherently make the profession more attractive allows us to structure our engagements and our team in such a way that everyone benefits.

Additionally, the ever-changing nature of the tax landscape in our country makes it non-negotiable to stay up to speed on potential new legislation (in an election year, to boot!). There is never a shortage of opportunities to implement new planning strategies with our clients and work together to position them for success, whatever that looks like for them. 

What is your company culture like?

We are passionate about serving small businesses because we are one! We love finding the answer to difficult topics or questions and to help our clients make decisions when the best choice may not always be clear. 

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

Someone who enjoys being an advisor rather than a practitioner. We believe that many clients are being underserved by their tax and financial professionals and that demand for value-added planning will only continue to increase amidst a constantly changing financial landscape. 

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?

Columbus is an incredibly vibrant and diverse metropolitan area with a thriving small business community. There is no shortage of opportunities for us to work together to keep Columbus one of the most sought-after destinations for entrepreneurial thinkers.
