For over 100 years, we have been building relationships with our clients and developed a century worth of valuable experience in the corporate, healthcare, senior living, education, retail, hospitality/entertainment and industrial markets.
Tell us about your company’s mission and values
In the Danis culture, building value for clients is of the utmost priority. We place clients’ interests first by always demonstrating the highest levels of honesty and integrity, by providing quality and attention to detail, and by always standing behind our work. Our philosophy is to make certain that each project is done right, to completion, and executed to the highest of standards.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
The Columbus Chamber offers a wide variety of networking events, resources, and opportunities to allow us to engage further with the Columbus community. Specifically, I’m looking forward to attending the CEO Insights in both February and August 2020. These programs provide a look into the valuable experiences, trends, and lessons learned from some of Columbus’ most influential business leaders.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
Our Danis team attends conferences and educational events across the country to further understand the construction industry. Whether it’s new technologies in virtual design, lean construction methodology and implementation, or new construction materials, we enjoy the chance to continually enhance our knowledge base in order to better serve our clients and our communities where we build.
What is your company culture like?
Built on the foundation that began in 1916, we believe that the success of the company is rooted in our people. Our employees are the foundation of our superior service to clients. We are committed to maintaining a culture where employees and management thrive on challenges, seek complex projects, and together achieve the best solutions for clients. Our Danis team appreciates an environment where they can contribute, have a sense of belonging, and help find solutions to challenges. Assuring that employees’ contributions are seen, heard, appreciated is paramount.
In addition, we value the importance of being a responsible neighbor. Danis is committed to strengthening our regions by encouraging and supporting our employees to serve though our community impact program, Constructing Hope. Our goal is to ensure real needs are being met in the communities where we work, live, and play. Our employees are given time and encouraged to volunteer. We support, participate in, and sponsor a variety of initiatives, charities, and programs to improve the quality of life for families and children in our community, build stronger neighborhoods, and stronger futures for those in our area.
What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
With over 600 employees, including 420 craftspeople, we make ongoing development a priority. We focus on our employees’ professional and personal success through in-house training programs, third-party training seminars, and on-the-job mentorship programs. As our clients’ needs continue to change and evolve, our hands-on learning and development program is there to lead the way. Our investment is critical as it keeps all of us fully prepared and helps us achieve our goals.
As you grow in your career, our program grows with you. From our new manager training programs, to advanced leadership programs, your personal learning development experience is designed with the individual in mind.
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
I have been a proud Buckeye since 2011 and love so many things about this area. One attribute that stands out to me is the collaborative atmosphere of the city. From start-ups and small businesses to corporate giants, there is an abundance of opportunity for growth and learning due to the collaborative and innovative spirit of Columbus. Additionally, the philanthropic nature of Columbus matches both Danis’ and my desire to make a significant impact in our region.
