Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services

We’re a family-owned company, and we’ve been serving the communities around central Ohio since 1960. Our third-generation President Chris Converse isn’t just a businessman, he’s also a trained electrician who spent countless hours in the field learning from some of the best technicians in the industry before he moved up in the company. Our employees aren’t just a number, they fit with our family. That philosophy extends to our customers, too.

Converse Electric specializes in all types and sizes of commercial and industrial electrical projects. Our solutions include value engineering, new construction, remodels and additions, design/build, lighting control and more. We train our team in-house and utilize a prefabrication process that not only saves time, but saves money, as well.

Converse Electric is dedicated to delivering high-quality electrical services with a focus on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. We aim to provide innovative electrical solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of commercial and industrial clients.

Our core focus is making the construction industry better, one electrician at a time. Electricity may be a commodity, but our employees aren’t. They are a valued and integral part of our team. Family runs deep throughout our culture since we’re a third-generation, family-owned company. Our president learned the business from the ground up by starting as an apprentice and subsequently working in nearly every role. We work hard to make an impact in our community by hiring great employees and take great pride in growing our people by investing in their future. 

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

We are interested in Chamber and Community Events, Brand Awareness and Celebrations! 

What is your company culture like?

We operate under the EOS Model (Entrepreneurial Operating System), also called a “people operating system.” It is designed to align everyone around our established vision, remain on the same page, work toward the same goals and provide the tools and processes needed to achieve them.

Trust is a cornerstone in family business. We have built a culture of honesty and integrity to ensure that employees feel secure and valued by transparent communications and ethical business practices. We regularly solicit feedback from our team and involve them in decision-making processes. We emphasize strong relationships and encourage teamwork and collaboration, creating a sense of community and belonging among employees, much like family. And with that sense of family at the forefront of our culture, we like to celebrate our individual and company successes when we gather in-person at our quarterly all-company meetings.

It is also important to us to have a little fun and foster team bonding with epic events, –including the Olympic-like Apprenticeship Games, warehouse rodeo and human foosball—which have even inspired our employees to build hype by creating videos and writing theme songs. Cool popsicles on a hot jobsite also go over well.

Columbus, Ohio is a thriving hub for businesses and offers numerous opportunities for companies. Since our start in 1960, we have seen much change and played a role in several great landmark projects in Central Ohio. Our central location facilitates networking, we have several skilled trade schools in our vicinity that produce new talent every year, and we are fortunate to have strong economic growth with a robust and diverse economy. The focus on developing our communities that support places people want to work, play and live (including relocating to) by local government and various organizations continues to provide great opportunities for businesses to succeed.
