Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services.
At Change 4 Growth, our tagline is: Helping companies perform while they transform. And that’s truly what we do. Organizations of all sizes are experiencing tremendous change, especially as they grow and maneuver within their markets and as their client requirements change.
At C4G, we help companies and organizations through that change effort. Utilizing our organizational change management capabilities, we focus on the people side of any change, whether it’s a technology implementation or initiative, a transformation of business processes or organizational structure, a merger or acquisition or anything that changes the way people work. Incorporated into that effort could be developing their leaders, training their staff, recruiting new associates for them, embarking on an employee engagement and experience effort for them, or a cultural alignment program.
We know that over 70% of organizational initiatives fail due to a lack of an effective change management or business readiness plan. A return on the investment organizations make in either technology or transformational efforts can be minimal when the people factor is left out of the equation. At Change 4 Growth, we help organizations become more effective – we help them perform while they’re transforming. We help them become Change Capable.
Our Academy for Modern Professionals is excellent for quickly getting managers – whether new, potential, or existing – up to speed on how to lead their teams effectively. This is an accelerated program so it doesn’t take managers or leaders away from their work too long, is cost effective and delivers real results.
As we conduct Employee Engagement surveys for our clients, we find lots of ways that organizations can greatly improve the Employee Experience. We know that engaged employees will give discretionary effort, often making the difference between being an organization with great forward motion and one that is just gets by. We also know that engaged associates results in a much better client or customer experience. There is a direct connection.
The training development our Design Team produces is exceptional. Today, learning must be agile, engaging and sustainable. We are proud of the great work our team produces for our clients and their associates.
While organization effectiveness and organizational change management is what we’re known for, a little-known fact about us is our staffing and recruiting team. As a consulting firm, we have a keen eye for great talent and since we recruit for our own projects, we can use those skills to recruit on behalf of clients as well.
Tell us about your company’s mission and values.
We have a company motto: We lead with our values, we delight our customers and we have fun.
Most everyone who knows us, knows we live our values as an organization. We are accountable to our clients to keep our word, to correct any missteps we may make, and to be responsive to and respectful of our customers and to each other.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
We’re very pleased to have the support of the Chamber and we are getting involved in many aspects of the Chamber – attending events, participating in specific Chamber sponsored groups and we’re looking forward to volunteering in Chamber events. We appreciate the collaboration and partnership they’ve demonstrated since we’ve become a member.
They attended the ribbon cutting for the opening of our office and have also attended some thought leader events we’ve hosted.
How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?
Because Change 4 Growth works so closely with our clients, we are exposed to new ideas and trends as we help to implement new technologies or processes on their behalf.
We are active in industry groups and we have specific Champions assigned to those groups. Our Champions are responsible to update the team on new ideas, opportunities for learning and participating actively within those industry groups.
What is your company culture like?
Seriously fun. We are serious about our work and work product. We just don’t take ourselves too seriously. There is mutual respect within the organization and a true commitment to serving one another as we serve our clients. We are seriously fun!
What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?
Our company attracts bright, articulate employees who are servant leaders. Our consultants’ great desire is to see effective change in our client partner’s organizations. It’s in the DNA of a C4G team member – that drive to perform at a high level on behalf of our clients, with a clear understanding that we’re there to serve them and to produce measurable results.
We like to hire folks whose personal integrity drives everything they do. We don’t want to micromanage anyone so a successful team member at C4G is self -managed and driven to deliver results for our clients.
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Wow. Probably the people. From the largest companies to the smallest organizations, Columbus has great people leading them, great people operating within them and great people producing results for their customers. Technologically strong, with solid principles and many exciting products and solutions – that describes many companies and organizations in and around Columbus.
And, Columbus has tremendous forward motion.
What pieces of advice have you found to be the most helpful since starting your career?
My Dad was a great business person and he gave me a lot of good advice. On the wall in my office, I have one of his quotes: “Big people talk about success and ideas. Small people talk about other people.” That was my Dad, Jack Comas. He was the real deal! And he taught me a lot.
How do you achieve a work/life balance?
Probably by being mindful. If I’m not mindful of that balance, and get out of balance, I can’t give my best to my company. I try to have regular times to get away, either to our lake house or the ocean and really, truly unplug. That recharges me and gives me a fresh perspective.
Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside the office?
We’ve held some pretty thought provoking meetings at our lake house. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and allows us to be creative in our discussions and planning.
