Meet COMADRES Business Group | COMADRES Business Group

October 27th, 2026

Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services:

COMADRES Business Group provides one-on-one business advisory services, mentorship, and training for Latina women entrepreneurs, centered on three pillars: 1. Brand Identity & Presence, 2. Digital Presence & Communication, and 3. Business Strategy. Our goal is to help clients strengthen their strategy, access new markets, and achieve lasting brand visibility. At its core, COMADRES is a network that connects Latina businesswomen with allies and professionals to foster growth.

Describe your company in three words:

Trustworthy. Women-centered. Professional.

Share a recent project, client success, or example of your work in action:

In partnership with the U.S. Embassy’s Academy for Women Entrepreneurs and the Municipal Government of Guayaquil, Ecuador, COMADRES designed and delivered a business strategy program for 100 women entrepreneurs. The outcomes were exceptional: despite taking place during the pandemic, all participating businesses remained open, every business owner graduated with a complete business plan, and participants experienced an average 75% increase in sales. This kind of measurable, on-the-ground impact is what we strive for wherever COMADRES operates.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?:

I stay close to both the academic and practitioner sides of entrepreneurship: teaching Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Sustainable Development at the university level keeps me current on emerging frameworks, while advising founders directly keeps my ear to the ground. I also invest in ongoing professional development and continuing education, including courses on design thinking, digital reactivation strategy, business marketing strategy, and the economic impact of violence against women on business ownership. I also focus on staying active in mentoring and entrepreneurship networks where trends surface first.

If you had to start over from scratch, what’s the first thing you’d do differently?:

Every decision is a real-life milestone; it’s part of what shapes a business’s DNA. That said, if I could go back, I’d build our measurement systems from day one instead of adding them later. We always tracked outcomes for the entrepreneurs we served, but formalizing that data collection earlier would have made it even easier to show impact and attract partners sooner.

What makes a successful partnership at your company?:

Shared purpose and mutual accountability. Our strongest partnerships, such as the one with the U.S. Embassy’s AWE program and the Municipal Government of Guayaquil, Ecuador, worked because both sides were committed to measurable outcomes for the entrepreneurs we served, not just the appearance of collaboration.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?:

Columbus has a genuinely collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem: chambers, universities, and support organizations that want to see small and women-owned businesses succeed, plus a diverse, growing population that creates real demand for community-rooted businesses like COMADRES. It’s a city where you can build real relationships with the people and organizations that can help you grow.

What do you want people to remember about your business five years from now?:

The care with which COMADRES approaches each project, actively listening and understanding the problem to diagnose it and then designing a feasible, sustainable solution for each client. We also hope that it continues to be the place women entrepreneurs, especially Latina and immigrant business owners, turn to for real, hands-on support in building businesses that lasted.
