Losanti Opens February 28 in Franklinton, Marking Crown Restaurant Group’s First Expansion Beyond Cincinnati | Crown Restaurant Group/Losanti

Italian steakhouse brings from-scratch cooking, private dining, and a Columbus-exclusive happy hour to Gravity

COLUMBUS, OH Losanti, the boutique Italian steakhouse from Cincinnati-based Crown Restaurant Group (CRG), opens Saturday, February 28, at 440 West Broad St. in the Gravity development in Franklinton. The opening marks the hospitality group’s first restaurant outside Cincinnati and its entry into Columbus.

The Columbus location is the largest Losanti to date, spanning 6,000 sq. ft. and seating up to 250 guests with a seasonal patio. The restaurant includes three private dining spaces designed for both intimate gatherings and large celebrations, including one room accommodating up to 40 guests with a dedicated bar.  The Columbus restaurant also introduces a happy hour exclusive to this location.

“Opening in Columbus is an important milestone for our family and our company, said Anthony and Haley Sitek, co-founders and co-owners. “This is our first restaurant outside Cincinnati, and Franklinton felt like the right place to take that step. It reminds us of where we started—a neighborhood with energy, history and room to grow. We’re excited to share our approach to hospitality and from-scratch cooking with a new community. We’re honored to welcome Columbus to our table.”

Losanti is rooted in Italian culinary tradition and shaped by generations of family recipes, paired with modern steakhouse craftsmanship. The menu centers on USDA Prime steaks, hand-cut in-house and prepared with simple ingredients to highlight the natural flavor of each cut. Handmade pasta, seafood, crisp salads and classic steakhouse sides made for sharing round out the menu.

Signature dishes include the Slow Roasted Giant Meatball and the house tomato sauce used throughout the menu, both drawn from recipes passed down from Grandma Grace DeMatteo. The dessert menu features staples like the Butter Cake, a guest favorite at the Cincinnati location.

“My cooking philosophy comes from learning in my grandmother’s kitchen and carrying those lessons through every restaurant I’ve worked in,” added Anthony Sitek. “At Losanti, everything is made from scratch. We respect tradition, focus on technique and let the ingredients speak for themselves.”

The kitchen operates with a disciplined zero-waste philosophy, producing nearly everything in-house, including daily-baked bread, sauces, dressings, cured meats, and gelato. No ingredients are frozen. Sourcing is intentional and includes pork from Lansing’s and Ohio-grown produce from a Cleveland-based supplier.

The bar serves as the visual and social centerpiece of the dining room. Losanti’s beverage program blends classic Italian influences while embracing modern technique, featuring house-made syrups, fresh-pressed juices and in-house dehydration. A curated wine selection complements the richness, simplicity and elegance of the cuisine.

Design throughout the space draws inspiration from an early 1900s Chicago steakhouse, anchored by a dramatic central bar. A custom mural of “Rosie,” created by Chicago-based artist Jenny Vyas, provides a focal point, while antiques sourced throughout central Ohio add warmth and local character.

“At Crown Restaurant Group, we’ve always believed restaurants should feel like an extension of home—welcoming, genuine and centered around delicious food,” said Haley Nutter-Sitek. “Losanti brings that philosophy to life in a more elevated way, and opening in Columbus is an opportunity to create new memories and build lasting relationships with guests who become part of our extended family.”

Losanti will be open Wednesday through Sunday in March, offering daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant plans to expand to seven-day service beginning in April.
