Demetrius J. Robinson Joins Roetzel & Andress as Shareholder in Columbus | Roetzel & Andress

Roetzel & Andress has added Demetrius J. Robinson as a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate, Tax & Transactional Group in Columbus.

Robinson focuses his practice on representing companies and nonprofit organizations on tax law and business law matters. Specifically, he advises companies on the tax implications of tax-free reorganizations, employee benefits and welfare plans, acquisitions and divestitures, and multi-state nexus issues. In addition, he assists clients in resolving tax-related issues with taxing authorities, including the U.S. Tax Court, Internal Revenue Service, and state and local taxing authorities.

Robinson previously served as chair of the Tax Services Practice Group at his former firm and was a member of its Startups & Capitalization team. He counseled entrepreneurs, founders, and middle-market companies on organizational structure, governance and growth strategies. Earlier in his career, he worked at Ernst & Young in its indirect tax practice, concentrating on employment tax matters.

Robinson earned his Master of Laws in Taxation & Business and his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Capital University. Outside of his legal practice, Robinson serves as a Major in the United States Army National Guard and recently returned from an overseas deployment to the Middle East in support of U.S. contingency operations.
