Columbus Chamber of Commerce Congratulates Anheuser-Busch on Facility Expansion and Investment in Workforce Development
May 13th, 2025
The Columbus Chamber of Commerce proudly congratulates Anheuser-Busch on the expansion of its industry-leading Technical Excellence Center model with the launch of a new regional facility right here in Columbus. This major milestone reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to building the manufacturing workforce of the future and strengthening local economies through innovation and workforce development.
The new Columbus Regional Excellence Center will serve as a hub for upskilling Anheuser-Busch’s regional technical workforce over the next three years. More than 1,200 employees have already benefited from the program since its 2022 launch in St. Louis. Now, Columbus will play a central role in expanding that success and deepening partnerships with local trade schools and educators.
By opening the doors of its Technical Excellence Centers in both Columbus and St. Louis to students and educators – through partnerships with the National Association of Manufacturers’ Manufacturing Institute – Anheuser-Busch is investing directly in the future pipeline of talent and helping young people gain access to meaningful careers in manufacturing.
“Anheuser-Busch continues to lead by example – investing in people, communities, and the next generation of talent,” said Derrick R. Clay, President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. “This new Technical Excellence Center is more than just an expansion; it’s a commitment to the future of our workforce and our region. Columbus is proud to be part of Anheuser-Busch’s long-term vision.”
The official groundbreaking for the Columbus brewery took place in the summer of 1966, with operations beginning in 1968. As the sixth of Anheuser-Busch’s 12 major U.S. breweries, the Columbus facility originally produced 1.8 million barrels of beer and today houses the company’s newest Brewhouse – capable of brewing up to 10 million barrels. Situated on 138 acres, the Columbus brewery is one of only two Anheuser-Busch locations that produces non-alcoholic beers.
The Columbus Chamber and the broader Columbus Region business community stand fully behind Anheuser-Busch in this exciting new chapter.
