Columbus Chamber Foundation Hosts 8th Annual Play to Work Golf Outing
July 9th, 2025
Presented by CGI – Supporting Economic Inclusion and Business Growth in the Columbus Region
On Monday, June 16, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Foundation proudly hosted its 8th Annual Play to Work Golf Outing at the beautiful Medallion Club in Westerville, Ohio. The event brought together business and community leaders from across the Columbus Region for a day of golf, networking, and giving back. All proceeds directly benefit the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to removing barriers to prosperity and growth in the Columbus Region through strong relationships and purposeful inclusion.
This year’s outing was presented by CGI, the event’s Title Sponsor and a steadfast supporter of inclusive economic advancement in Central Ohio. Their continued investment helps fund the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support small business development, equitable access to resources, and workforce pipeline initiatives.
“The Play to Work Golf Outing is one of our favorite events of the year – not just for the fun and networking, but because of the real impact it makes,” said Dan Whetstone, Vice President, Consulting Services at CGI. “We’re proud to support the Chamber Foundation’s mission of advancing economic inclusion and helping build a stronger, more resilient Columbus Region.”
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed friendly competition, camaraderie, and community-building, all in support of the Chamber Foundation’s vision for a thriving and inclusive business ecosystem. The funds raised from the outing will help fuel programming that empowers entrepreneurs, supports historically underserved businesses, and strengthens local talent pipelines.
“The continued generosity of CGI is instrumental to the success of this event and the impact we’re able to make as a Foundation,” said Derrick R. Clay, President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. “We are sincerely grateful to Dan Whetstone and the entire CGI team for their leadership and commitment to ensuring prosperity is accessible to all members of our business community.”
With strong attendance and enthusiastic sponsor participation, the Play to Work Golf Outing has become one of the region’s signature charitable business events – proving once again that when we come together with purpose, we can drive meaningful change.
