EXXCEL Project Management works nationally providing development, design-build, construction, and real estate investment services for the industrial, commercial, and retail markets. With a focus in distribution, food processing, and light manufacturing facilities, we have completed over 125 million square feet of projects in the 37 states we are licensed to do business.

Tell us about your company’s mission and values.

EXXCEL’s core purpose is the development and construction of repeatable relationships with our stakeholders, team members, clients, vendors, investors, and the community. We strive to achieve our core purposed with an equal commitment to our core values of Safety and Betterment.

At EXXCEL, safety always comes first. For us, safety goes beyond physical safety and is applied to the emotional, mental and spiritual safety of all our stakeholders.

Our second core value is betterment. We ask and expect all our team members to do a better job today than they did yesterday (easier said than done); not necessarily by working harder or longer, but by working smarter. Always seeking every day to discover faster and better ways to develop ourselves and products. We are clock builders not time tellers.

We use creativity, curiosity, communication and leadership skills to find better ways to execute our commitments to our stakeholders with an absolute focus on providing better value and faster delivery times in every task we perform.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

Networking, reading real estate / construction news, reading news about industries that can affect ours, and benchmarking with our competitors.

Family oriented, professionalism, and striving to be better each day.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

You must be a self-starter, innovative, and have a drive for success.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?

People friendly, the economy is booming, and we have a very diverse inclusive workforce and community.

What pieces of advice have you found to be the most helpful since starting your career?

Learners are earners, it is important to learn as much as you can about your role, the company values, and their stakeholders.

How do you achieve a work/life balance?

We expect our team members to leave the office and have lunch, utilize paid time off. When a break is necessary, take a walk along the Scioto rive or exercise and try different new and fun ways to recharge.
