Expeditors is a global logistics company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. The Company employs trained professionals in 176 district offices and numerous branch locations located on six continents linked into a seamless worldwide network through an integrated information management system. Services include the consolidation or forwarding of air and ocean freight, customs brokerage, vendor consolidation, cargo insurance, time-definite transportation, order management, warehousing and distribution and customized logistics solutions. We are a one-stop shop for all supply chain needs globally and we have a location right here in Columbus!

Tell us about your company’s mission and values

At Expeditors, our clients often observe that our people just seem to care more. That’s no accident. What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

We have really enjoyed the Chambers’ networking events. These events are a great opportunity for the Expeditors team to meet with other Chamber members and share ideas. As we head into 2024, we are really looking forward to learning more about the Columbus Region Logistics Council and finding additional ways to get more involved. We believe that our services can be of value to so many companies and it is really about finding those that want to partner and supporting them in their goals and initiatives.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

We stay engaged with trends impacting our industry in a lot of ways. First and foremost, we stay in close contact with our customers, service providers, and global partners. The insights and perspectives that they bring are invaluable and really help us identify where we need to be positioned to best support their needs. We also are involved with industry associations (like the Columbus Chamber of Commerce) that help us stay abreast of trends through networking with industry professionals. Trade publications and websites, statistics, news publications, etc. are other fantastic sources of information as well.

Columbus is an exciting place to do business, especially for those involved in global logistics like us at Expeditors. The city has experienced tremendous growth over the years and is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the Midwest. From a logistics viewpoint, Columbus continues to be leveraged for our geographical location (60% of the US population can be reached in a single day’s transit) and business incentives, to entice more companies to invest into our market. As a result of these efforts, Columbus is quickly becoming one of the biggest logistics hubs in the country. That coupled with a great talent pool and affordability is a receipt for great place to do business.
