Elected officials and area business leaders come together at Business Drives Government
Columbus, OH, October 15, 2019 – The Columbus Chamber of Commerce will host elected officials and business leaders at Business Drives Government on Wednesday, October 23. The program will open with a welcome session featuring prominent Ohio figures followed by four distinct breakout discussions and will conclude with a lunch presentation with Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose.
Business Drives Government is centered around building relationships between elected officials and business leaders to facilitate dialogue regarding pertinent issues that affect local business.
Breakout Sessions Include:
- The Role of Public Policy Making in Fostering a Competitive Advantage for the Region
- Substance Abuse in the Workplace and Evolving Public Policy Issues
- Game of Zones: Opportunities for Businesses to Take Advantage of a New Tax Incentive
- Political Engagement: Looking Ahead to 2020 and the Pivotal Role of the Business Vote
“The Chamber is invested in connecting business leaders with public policy resources to drive growth in the Columbus community,” said Don DePerro, president and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. “With Business Drives Government, we hope to exploit opportunities for our members in which they can navigate public policy and use it to their organization’s advantage.”
Attendees can expect to hear valuable insights from key leaders, such as Governor Mike DeWine and Mayor Andrew Ginther, as well as video presentations from Senator Sherrod Brown and Senator Rob Portman. The half-day event will be hosted at the Hilton Columbus Downtown from 8:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
