In the heart of Columbus, Ohio, Franklinton Rising stands as a beacon of hope and transformation. This non-profit organization is dedicated to breaking the cycle of economic and spiritual poverty by investing in local young adults coming from poverty and revitalizing inner-city neighborhoods, starting with Franklinton.

Empowering the Next Generation

At the core of Franklinton Rising’s mission is the empowerment of disadvantaged youth. The organization provides class training as an “Introduction to Building Trades”, technical training and life skills development. Trainees receive mentorship, on the job training while be paid, and are introduced to Christian principles, fostering both professional and personal growth. Over the years, more than 120 young adults have participated in this transformative program, with many securing successful careers in the building trades. Notably, some trainees have even purchased homes they helped construct, exemplifying the program’s full-circle impact.

Community Revitalization Efforts

Franklinton Rising is equally committed to rejuvenating the physical landscape of Columbus’s inner-city neighborhoods. By purchasing and renovating vacant houses and constructing new affordable housing, the organization helps to beautify intercity neighborhoods and provides much needed modern, affordable houses. These efforts not only provide quality homes but also foster a sense of community, reduce crime, and attract new residents without triggering gentrification.

Collaborative Partnerships

The success of Franklinton Rising is amplified through strategic partnerships with local businesses and organizations. For instance, various organizations in the construction industry collaborate with us to provide training and employment opportunities for trainees and some generous support us with equipment, building supplies, skilled labor and monetary donations.
