2024 Career Tech Forward Conference | Columbus City Schools

The Columbus Career Tech Planning District (CTPD) will be hosting the second annual Career Tech Forward Conference. Topics will include work-based learning, industry credentials, economic development in Central Ohio, and collaborating with business partners. This free event includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and free parking. CCS and CTPD Teachers and Administrators are encouraged to attend.
This event is limited to 300 CCS Teachers (CCS teachers will receive a stipend equal to the hourly rate plus fringe benefits).
Career Tech Forward has expanded to include four days of exciting opportunities for our Industry Partners and Teachers! Register for events by the day. Registration for all events closes on May 21st.
Tuesday, June 4, 2024: Simulated Work-Based Learning Workshop 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Fort Hayes Career Center – 600 Jack Gibbs Blvd.
In this workshop, CTE Teachers and Industry Partners will be paired based on similar industries. Together, you’ll develop authentic work-based learning activities for students to solve throughout the next school year, providing them with practical skills and a deeper understanding of your field. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for Industry Partners to influence future talent and showcase the practical applications of your industry’s expertise.
This event is only for 20 CCS CTE Teachers (CCS teachers will receive a stipend equal to the hourly rate plus fringe benefits). All Industry Partners are encouraged to attend. Lunch is provided; free parking.
Wednesday, June 5, 2024: CCS CTE/OSU Collaborative 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Various locations at OSU.
This event is for CCS Teachers (priority given to 24-25 CTE Teachers) who will spend the day visiting programs at The Ohio State University in one of three tracks: Business/Marketing (will visit Keenan Center), Information Technology (will visit Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design), and Manufacturing/Engineering (will visit Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence).
This event is only for 15 CCS teachers per track (CCS teachers will receive a stipend equal to the hourly rate plus fringe benefits). Lunch is provided; free parking. Location details will be emailed to registrants.

Friday, June 7, 2024: Industry Day 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (with a half hour lunch on your own) Location: TBA
The Columbus Region is growing with Advanced Technologies. CTE teachers should consider attending this day to gain an understanding from the industry partner’s perspective. You will get an inside look on trends in advanced technologies and plenty of ideas to integrate career awareness into your lessons.
