Columbus Chamber of Commerce Names 2020 Columbus Award Recipient
January 15th, 2020
Lisa Bachmann to be honored at Chamber Annual Meeting, Feb. 6
The Columbus Chamber of Commerce will honor Lisa Bachmann, COO of Big Lots, as the recipient of its distinguished Columbus Award at Level Up, the Columbus Chamber’s 2020 Annual Meeting presented by Battelle.
The Columbus Award has recognized outstanding community leadership and business success for nearly four decades. Past recipients include Cathy Lyttle, Jim Kunk and Michael B. Coleman.
“The Columbus Award is the single most prestigious honor given to a Columbus region business leader,” said Don DePerro, Columbus Chamber president and CEO. “Lisa Bachmann personifies the type of leader and person who is honored with this distinction. We are proud to continue the Columbus Award legacy with Lisa.”
In her role, Lisa oversees the corporate infrastructure, merchandising strategy and operational management at Big Lots. She first joined the company in 2002 as its Senior Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Allocation.
Lisa will receive the award during the Chamber’s Level Up program on February 6 at the Columbus Convention Center.
The 2020 recipient of the Small Business Leader Award – presented by First Merchants Bank – will also be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting. This year’s finalists include:
Rachel Friedman, TENFOLD
Brad Griffith, Buckeye Interactive
Lynsey Jordan, Permit Solutions
Each finalist was selected following an extensive vetting process by a committee of judges who consider a competitive set of criteria.
The Chamber’s 2020 Annual Meeting will feature keynote presentations from Janelle Coleman, Dee Haslam and Brett Kaufman, as they share their stories of growth through disruption, collaboration and experience.
A full agenda of this year’s event can be found at Columbus.org/AnnualMeeting. Tickets are available through January 29 and can be purchased at Columbus.org/AnnualMeeting.
