Breakthrough T1D to Host Annual Gala in Dublin, Ohio

August 30th, 2024

COLUMBUS, OH – Breakthrough T1D, (formerly JDRF) is preparing for its annual Promise Ball Gala which will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at The Exchange in Dublin, Ohio. This event draws roughly 400 guests and raises more than $550,000, which is being used to drive scientific progress around the world and in our own Central Ohio community, transforming the lives of adults and children living with type 1 diabetes (TID).

The planning and execution of this event is lead by a committee of dedicated volunteers who work alongside the team of Breakthrough T1D to raise critical funds for research to improve technology for those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D), helping them to live a life without limits.

T1D is a devastating autoimmune disease that has no known cause or cure.  Besides coping with a lifelong dependence on insulin, children and adults with T1D must face the constant threat of devastating, life-threatening complications. T1D requires intensive, 24/7 management and there is no cure.

The annual Breakthrough T1D Central Ohio Gala brings together the Central Ohio diabetes community for an unforgettable evening featuring an expansive silent auction, one-of-a-kind live auction, seated dinner, live entertainment, networking opportunities, and a night of fundraising all in support of Breakthrough T1D and its mission to treat, prevent and ultimately, cure T1D. During the event, local community leader, Karen Morrison, senior vice president of OhioHealth Corporation will be honored with the Steven A. Davis Philanthropic Leadership Award for her longtime commitment to improving the lives of those living with T1D.

This year’s event will take a step back in time to the Roaring 1920s. Flapper dresses and zoot suit attire is encouraged! Guests will enjoy a night filled with food from Cameron Mitchell Catering, handcrafted cocktails, lively dancing to the tunes of Mojoflo, unique photo opportunities, and exciting auctions.
