Roetzel & Andress Welcomes John C. Barno and Jamison S. Speidel to Employment Services Group in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 11, 2024)—Roetzel & Andress is pleased to announce the addition of John C. Barno and Jamison S. Speidel to its Employment Services Group in Columbus. Barno joins the firm as a Shareholder and Speidel joins as Of Counsel, with both focusing their practice on workers’ compensation law.

With a career spanning almost 30 years in workers’ compensation law, Barno’s extensive background includes roles as a claims adjuster for a third-party administrator, representing injured workers, defending the Ohio BWC and Industrial Commission of Ohio as an Assistant Attorney General, and managing the workers’ compensation practice at two large firms. In 2007, he founded Barno Law LLC primarily advising and defending employers in their workers’ compensation claims.
Barno earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Communications and Political Science from Heidelberg University, where he also played baseball.
Speidel’s practice is focused on the area of workers’ compensation, with an emphasis on employer representation and defense. He has represented a diverse range of employers, from small family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Recognized as a Specialist in Workers’ Compensation by the Ohio State Bar Association, Speidel has handled over 7,000 administrative hearings and also represents employers with workers’ compensation litigation in the Court of Common Pleas throughout Ohio.
Speidel earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law, holds a Master of Business Administration from Wheeling University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from The Ohio State University.
