Messer Construction Co. Promotes Abby Schmitmeyer to Project Executive; Celebrates 30 Years in Columbus

Abby Schmitmeyer promoted to Project Executive in the company’s Columbus, Ohio, office.

Columbus, OH – Dec. 20, 2023 – Messer Construction Co. is proud to announce the promotion of Abby Schmitmeyer to Project Executive in the company’s Columbus, Ohio, office.

Schmitmeyer began her career with Messer in 2015 upon earning her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Ohio State University. Her project experience includes the Scioto Greenways, Mount Carmel Franklinton and New Albany, as well as Parks Edge West, East and North. She currently leads a team that is managing a variety of renovations and upgrades for OhioHealth.

Schmitmeyer is active in several Messer committees and volunteers regularly for Modcon and the American Heart Association.

In addition to Schmitmeyer’s senior management level promotion, Messer announced the following promotions take effect in January 2024 in Columbus:

  • Kennedy Henney, Project Manager
  • Ben Maxwell, Project Engineer II
  • Colin Patton, Senior Project Manager
  • Drake Winters, Craftforce Superintendent
