Tell us about your company’s mission and values.

Our purpose is to help our clients reach for and realize their vision. While our purpose is always top of mind, everything we do aligns to our core values. They guide how we work with our clients, our teams, and our communities. Our core values:

  • Do what is right, always.
  • Inspire passion and adventure.
  • Take ownership. Get it done.
  • Celebrate authenticity.
  • Focus on outcomes.
  • Drive connection and teamwork.
  • Fuel growth and innovation.
  • Stay humble and curious.
  • Build and shape a better future.
  • Smile

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

We are fortunate that we have seasoned industry experts in our senior leadership team. These experts including Channie Mize, Pat Tyler, Doug Bond, and David Cantwell have all reached top leadership positions in venerated consulting organizations. Further, the local office has access to Slalom’s internal research organization and its 8000+ consultants worldwide who are also experts in their respective fields. Combine all this with our core value “Stay humble and curious” and you will find us researching trends, studying for technical certifications, and expanding our knowledge on a daily basis. We also give back to our larger organization by writing white papers and internal industry briefs, which continues to feed the knowledge base.

What is your company culture like?

Slalom has a credo “love your work and life.” And we take that very seriously. We want each one of our team members to be able to bring their whole self to the office and love the work they do and the life they have. This creates a collegial culture of commitment, passion, and collaboration. We also live by and are measured by our core values. This means that you will find us smiling and doing what is right always.

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

Our most successful employees are the ones who really enjoy their work and find ways to be creative and collaborative. It’s been said that “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We have found a way at Slalom to do both – go fast and go far. We do this by allowing appropriate autonomy but also by teaming together for maximum results for our clients.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?

Columbus is a vibrant community with a broad range of client organizations, including 15 of the Fortune 1000, the government of Ohio, and more than 50 college campuses in the region. All of this combines to make an incredible energy here in this city.

Perhaps the most compelling part of Columbus is that, despite all that it offers in size, it still feels like a small town where every relationship matters. This connectedness breeds collaboration and innovation.

Slalom’s approach to working with clients through local relationships and delivering high-caliber, high-impact work will both benefit and be benefitted in Columbus.
