First Financial Bank Donates $5,000 for Nursing Pod at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical | First Financial Bank

October 25th, 2024

Columbus, OH – First Financial Bank (Nasdaq: FFBC) has donated $5,000 to Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus toward the addition of a new Mamava nursing pod, as the bank and its associates continue acting as friends, leaders and neighbors in the communities they serve. The First Financial donation was used as a matching gift to secure additional support from the public that doubled the total value of the donations received by the Conservatory.

“First Financial is committed to helping our clients and communities thrive, which is why we are so thrilled to team up with the public on a nursing pod that makes the Conservatory more welcoming to mothers and young families,” said Joseph Sofia, First Financial Bank’s commercial banking regional president for Central Ohio.

The pod offers a private space for nursing, with an electrical outlet, white noise, hooks to hang personal possessions, a mirror and table, and comfortable seating for feeding or pumping.

First Financial has given a total of $16,000 this year to the Conservatory. The First Financial Foundation also gave $20,000 to other organizations in Franklin County last year, teaming up with community groups to create positive change in the areas of workforce development and education, and neighborhood development, with a particular emphasis on low-income communities.

Earlier this year, First Financial announced a new $2.4 billion, five-year Community Benefits Agreement with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) and related partner organizations, establishing goals for lending and investments to low- and moderate-income (LMI) clients and census tracts. This new agreement followed the successful conclusion of First Financial’s previous CBA, during which it achieved 192 percent of its $1.75 billion goal for lending and investments for 2018-2023.
