Women’s Coalition Kick-off Breakfast | Groundwork Ohio

May 8 @ 8:30 am 10:30 am

Groundwork Ohio is launching its first ever Women’s Coalition, where women-serving organizations will convene quarterly and explore innovative solutions to address the child care crisis. On May 8th, Groundwork will be hosting a Women’s Coalition kick-off event, which will serve as both a call to action and empowering women to work together in addressing this pressing issue that affects families, communities, and economies at large.

Engaging women leaders in this intentional way will serve as a powerful platform for several reasons:

Raising Awareness: The child care crisis disproportionately impacts women, especially those balancing work and family. A coalition can help elevate the issue through thoughtful and intentional dialogue, bringing visibility to how this challenge affects not only individual families but also the broader economy and society.

Building Collective Power: Women leaders, when united, can have a strong voice in advocating for systemic change.

Advocacy: A coalition of women leaders can engage with policymakers to advocate for better policies, such as accessible and affordable child care options, paid parental leave, and flexible workplace accommodations. This event and subsequent quarterly calls can be a starting point for being part of the policy agenda conversation with a combined voice.

Empowering Women: Women leading this charge can inspire other women to take action, creating a ripple effect of leadership and advocacy across communities for every family in Ohio. Mobilizing women leaders can also provide support networks for others seeking to get involved in movement building.

Inclusive Solutions: A diverse coalition can bring a wide range of perspectives to the table, ensuring that solutions are inclusive and address the needs of women from various backgrounds and lived experiences.
