The Cordella Foundation is a Hilliard nonprofit organization. We were founded in March 2023. We help families pay for funerals when they’ve lost a loved one to substance abuse disorder or an overdose.
Fentanyl overdose is the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18-45. Last year, Ohio had the 7th highest overdose rate in the country.
In addition to helping pay for funerals (we’ve paid out over $13,000 so far), we have a partnership with Amazon and distribute items to the community. Since March we’ve given out almost $30,000 in donations to other organizations and individuals. We distribute everything from diapers to appliances to cleaning supplies.
We also held our first Holiday Adopt a Family and were able to give out $10,000 to local families to help with holiday expenses. We also work with other community partners to educate and raise awareness about addiction.
We are having a fundraiser on February 9th at The Makoy. We are not only looking for people to attend but for local businesses to donate to our silent auction. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Every penny we make goes directly to help our community. Everyone who does work for the foundation is strictly volunteer. Even if you cannot donate, spreading the news is just as important and very much appreciated!
