Columbus Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Andy Hardy as Vice President of Government Relations

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Andy Hardy as its new Vice President of Government Relations. With over two decades of experience in government relations, public affairs, and community engagement, Andy brings an extensive track record of fostering strategic partnerships, driving legislative initiatives, and advocating for impactful community programs.
In his new role, Andy will lead the Columbus Chamber’s government relations strategies, serving as a bridge between the business community and local, state, and federal policymakers. His appointment underscores the Columbus Chamber’s commitment to advancing policies that support economic growth and prosperity for the Columbus Region.
“Andy Hardy’s deep expertise in navigating complex policy landscapes and building collaborative relationships makes him the ideal leader to represent the business community’s interests,” said Derrick R. Clay, President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber. “We are thrilled to have him on board as we continue to champion initiatives that enhance our region’s competitiveness and business climate.”
Andy joins the Columbus Chamber from OhioHealth, where he served as External Affairs Manager. In this role, he successfully helped lead efforts to reinvest over $405 million into the community through community benefit initiatives, helped to secure grants and federal funding, and cultivated relationships with key stakeholders to advance OhioHealth’s mission. Prior to OhioHealth, Andy held pivotal roles in public affairs, including as a Project Manager with Strategic Public Partners and Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs and Communications for the Ohio Department of Insurance.
Notably, Andy’s career began on Capitol Hill, where he served in various legislative roles for U.S. Congressman Patrick J. Tiberi, ultimately contributing to landmark legislative achievements, including securing critical infrastructure funding and advancing tax reform measures.

Andy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Ohio Dominican University and is widely recognized for his leadership in government relations, coalition building, and community impact.
