The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Robert J. “Bob” Weiler, Sr., Chairman of the Board of the Robert Weiler Company, as the 2025 recipient of the Columbus Award. Bob will be recognized during Ignite US, the Chamber’s 2025 Annual Meeting, presented by Mount Carmel Health and Wright-Patt Credit Union.

Bob Weiler’s distinguished career and profound contributions to the Central Ohio business and civic communities have left an enduring legacy. Since joining The Robert Weiler Company in 1957, Bob has shaped the region’s real estate landscape and served as a guiding force for growth and development.

After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, Bob pursued advanced education at The Ohio State University, where he received a Master’s degree in real estate in 1964 and a Doctoral degree in finance in 1968. He later earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University Law School in 1983 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar. Currently, Bob serves on the faculty of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and Capital University’s Law and Graduate Schools, where he continues to inspire future leaders.

Throughout his career, Bob has held numerous leadership roles in real estate and appraisal organizations, including serving as President of the Ohio Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and the Columbus Board of Realtors. He has received many accolades, including being named Realtor of the Year by both the Columbus Board of Realtors and the Ohio Association of Realtors in 1976.

Bob’s commitment to the Columbus community is equally noteworthy. He has served as President of the Columbus Board of Education and held leadership positions with many influential organizations, including Capital University, COSI, The Columbus Bar Association Foundation Board, Pilot Dogs, Inc., Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, COTA, The Ohio State University Foundation Board, Columbus Franklin County Urban League, and Columbus Metropolitan YMCA.

A longtime supporter of the United Way, Bob served as Campaign Chairman in 1998, demonstrating his dedication to improving lives throughout the community.

The Columbus Award has recognized exceptional community leadership and business success since 1964. Past honorees include Melissa Ingwersen, Stephen Steinour, Guy Worley, Stephanie Hightower, Lisa Bachmann, and Cathy Lyttle.

“Bob Weiler’s extraordinary leadership and lifelong dedication to Central Ohio have transformed not just our business community, but the very fabric of our city,” said Don DePerro, President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. “It is an honor to celebrate his achievements and legacy by presenting him with the 2025 Columbus Award.”
