Columbus Chamber of Commerce Names 2022 Columbus Award Recipient

Guy Worley to be recognized at Chamber Annual Meeting, March 31
The Columbus Chamber of Commerce will honor Guy Worley, retired CEO/President of the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation and Capitol South, as this year’s recipient of the Columbus Award.
Guy will be recognized during AMPLIFY, the Chamber’s 2022 Annual Meeting, presented by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
The Columbus Award has recognized exceptional community leadership and business success since 1964. Past honorees have included Stephanie Hightower, Lisa Bachmann, Cathy Lyttle, and Jim Kunk.
“Guy Worley’s leadership of the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation changed the face of downtown,” said Don DePerro, president and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. “Guy will forever be recognized as the architect behind The Columbus Commons, Scioto Mile, conversion of the Lazarus Department Store to an important office building, the $500 million Scioto Peninsula project, and so many, many more projects. Our Columbus Chamber is thrilled to honor Guy Worley with the 2022 Columbus Award.”
Guy will receive the award during the Chamber’s AMPLIFY program on March 31 at the Mershon Auditorium.
The 2022 recipient of the Small Business Leader Award – presented by First Merchants Bank – will also be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting. This year’s finalists include:
Bill Balderaz, Futurety
Peter Coratola, Jr., EASE Logistics
Crystal Hughey, Corporate Cleaning, Inc.
Each finalist was selected following an extensive vetting process by a committee of judges who consider a competitive set of criteria.
The Chamber’s 2022 Annual Meeting will feature keynote presentations from Kenny McDonald, David Staley, Eric Pennington, and Tom Grote. Registration information for this year’s event can be found at Columbus.org/Annual-Meeting.
