Columbus Chamber Congratulates Jon Husted on U.S. Senate Appointment

January 17th, 2025

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Lt. Gov. Jon Husted as U.S. Senator representing Ohio. On behalf of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Lt. Governor Jon Husted on his appointment. This milestone is a testament to his commitment to serving the people of Ohio and his vision for a thriving future for our state.

Throughout his career, Lt. Governor Husted has been a steadfast champion of innovation, education, and workforce development. As the Director of InnovateOhio, he led initiatives to streamline government operations through technology, such as modernizing data systems and creating the Ohio Broadband Strategy, which expanded access to high-speed internet for underserved communities. His leadership solidified Ohio’s position as a hub for technology-driven growth.

During his service as Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, he demonstrated a profound understanding of the critical connection between education and workforce development. He spearheaded programs like TechCred, which enabled thousands of Ohioans to earn industry-recognized credentials, and worked to align K-12 education with the needs of Ohio’s job market, ensuring students are prepared for in-demand careers.

As we look ahead, we are confident that Senator Husted will continue to prioritize policies that foster economic growth, support Ohio businesses, and enhance opportunities for all. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce stands ready to work alongside him to advance initiatives that strengthen our region and contribute to the success of our state.

Congratulations, Senator Husted, on this well-deserved appointment. We look forward to continuing our partnership in building a prosperous future for Ohio.
