Columbus Chamber CEO Derrick R. Clay Named Honorary Chair for 15th Annual AAMWA Golf Outing
April 30th, 2025

The African American Male Wellness Agency (AAMWA) proudly announces Derrick R. Clay, President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, as the Honorary Chair for the 15th Annual AAMWA Golf Outing, set for Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Golf Club of Dublin.
The AAMWA Golf Outing is an extension of the Agency’s year-round work to eliminate health disparities in the Black community. As a signature fundraiser that supports our efforts, including the Annual Black Men’s Wellness Day, the outing invites community leaders and advocates to “golf with a purpose” while advancing our mission to help Black men live longer, healthier lives.
“As someone deeply committed to both economic development and community health, I believe that wellness is the first step toward building generational wealth,” said Derrick R. Clay. “I’m honored to serve as this year’s Honorary Chair and look forward to supporting the African American Male Wellness Agency’s vital work across our region and beyond.”
Kenny R. Hampton, President of the African American Male Wellness Agency, added, “The Golf Outing is more than a day on the course—it’s a critical piece of how we fund the free health screenings, resources, and education that Black men and their families rely on year-round. We’re excited to have Derrick Clay lead this year’s outing and help drive even greater impact.”
This year’s event will host 144 golfers in a 4-player scramble-style tournament with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Participants can expect a day of camaraderie, connection, and fun—all while supporting free, lifesaving health screenings and wellness education through AAMWA’s national platform.
Event highlights include:
- Hole-in-One Contest with a major prize
- Longest Drive Contest (Men’s & Women’s)
- Closest to the Pin Contest
- 1st & 2nd Place Trophies
- Raffle prizes, giveaways, vendor booths, and a cigar bar
Proceeds from the outing support AAMWA’s wellness initiatives and the Annual Black Men’s Wellness Day, a free health- focused event taking place in more than 20 cities across the country. Together, these efforts provide access to preventive care, early detection, and critical education to improve outcomes for African American men and their families.
