Columbus Chamber and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Partner to Promote Environmental Sustainability

Local partnership emphasizes composting at 96^thAnnual Chamber Clambake & Lobster Feast

COLUMBUS, OH, September 9, 2019 – The Columbus Chamber of Commerce will host its 96^thAnnual Columbus Chamber Clambake & Lobster Feast on September 26. The event will take place at Water’s Edge Park at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium.

Unique to this year’s event is a partnership between Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and the Columbus Chamber with support by the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium to present #EverythingButTheBib, a campaign focused on ensuring all aspects of Clambake, sans bib, are environmentally friendly as possible.

“Last year’s Clambake was a resounding success,” said Don DePerro, president and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. “Partnering with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to work towards a zero-waste event elevates our mission as a highly environmentally conscious organization.”

The Chamber partnered with Jeni’s to support this initiative due to their dedication towards environmental sustainability in their scoop shops and through the production process of their products.

The evening will include two hours of dedicated networking time followed by a five-course meal complete with lobsters, clams and more. Complimentary beer and wine will be available to attendees, as well as samples from Roosters Wings and Watershed Distillery.
