Capital Budget Review Process Begins
October 6th, 2019
As we enter the fall, Ohio is beginning its biannual Capital Budget process. The Capital Budget allocates state funding for infrastructure and community projects throughout the State of Ohio.
The Columbus Chamber of Commerce—in conjunction with the Columbus Partnership and other community leaders—is beginning a review process of capital projects to be recommended to the State Legislature for consideration. In 2017, 25 of the 26 project recommendations that our review committee recommended to the legislature received capital funding.
Applications for the review process can be found on our website here and submitted to publicpolicy@columbuspartnership.com by Friday, November 1.
The questionnaire is a downloadable PDF document that can be typed into directly. A complete application will include the finished questionnaire as well as several supplemental items. The supplemental documents required are: a line-item budget, a project timeline and list of key milestones, outline of other/outside funding committed to supporting the project, and a list of project supporters and/or partners. Application documents must be submitted as PDFs to be properly processed.
Upon receiving all submissions, our team will work to identify key project proposals for prioritizing and recommending to the state legislature at the end of the Fall. If you have any questions during this process, please email Benjamin Kanas at benjaminkanas@columbus.org.
