BESA LAUNCHES THE BESA COLLECTIVE TO HELP SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGE TEAMS IN VOLUNTEERING
March 26th, 2024
Columbus, Ohio—Columbus nonprofit Besa, which simplifies volunteering for individuals and businesses while addressing the community’s most pressing needs, is launching a new program to help small and medium-sized organizations engage their teams in giving back.
The Besa Collective, which launches this week, allows small and medium-sized organizations to join a cohort of other small and medium-sized organizations and gives them exclusive access to monthly volunteer experiences for their employees.
Besa will work with each organization to identify favorite causes and impact goals, and then throughout the year, Besa will create volunteer experiences that align with the values of companies in the collective. Besa’s innovative tech platform will manage volunteer experience signups and provide real-time data so each company can see, understand and communicate its social impact.
Membership in The Besa Collective starts at $10,000—a cost-effective alternative to Besa’s full annual partnerships, which start at $25,000, and an excellent way to engage employees in their community and company culture while supporting the highest needs of nonprofits and the residents they serve. Besa CEO Matthew Goldstein said that especially as more employees work remotely, more companies than ever are looking for meaningful ways to connect their team members.
“Organizations know that engaging their employees in volunteerism is a win-win—a way to make a positive difference while connecting team members more deeply with each other and their community. But they don’t always have foundations, funding or people power to do it like larger companies can,” Goldstein said. “We’re thrilled to launch The Besa Collective, because this program will allow smaller organizations to engage their team members in a meaningful way while addressing some of our community’s most critical needs.”
Beyond the exclusive monthly volunteer opportunities, employees of organizations in The Besa Collective can also volunteer for any of Besa’s 70 monthly community volunteer experiences and have those hours tracked toward their organization’s social impact.
Since launching in 2012, Besa has rallied over 81,000 volunteers to give over 210,000 hours completing over 13,600 service projects, and it has helped make $97M in community impact.
Besa is a Columbus-based nonprofit dedicated to powering a wave of civic engagement and supporting those who need it most by connecting people and businesses to community service. Besa makes giving back easy by curating more than 70 volunteer experiences every month that Columbus residents can easily find and register for at www.besa.org. It also helps business partners manage and strengthen their philanthropic efforts through strategic planning, curated volunteer experiences, volunteer management and philanthropy software.
