Action for Children is excited to share our latest findings through the Dedication Through Difficulty report, which captures the realities faced by child care providers across central Ohio. This report, based on the September 2024 Central Ohio Child Care Provider Survey, highlights critical issues in early childhood education, including staffing challenges, financial struggles, and provider compensation.

Key Insights from the Report:

• Sustainability Challenges: 11% of providers are unsure if they’ll remain open in three months, while 48% face uncertainty over the next year.
• Financial Pressures: Despite 64% of providers increasing tuition in the past year, 55% are experiencing monthly financial losses.
• Staffing Difficulties: With 68% of providers struggling to hire, wages lag far behind competitive levels in other industries.
