Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services.
MPW offers integrated, technology-based industrial cleaning, water purification, facility management and environmental management services to customers throughout North America. MPW assists in enhancing operational efficiencies, improving reliability and minimizing costs.
MPW’s mission is to create and enhance enduring customer relationships through safety, innovation and service.
What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?
MPW is eager to engage in networking opportunities made available by the chamber. We look forward to creating and strengthening relationships within Central Ohio. With increased communication and engagement among company leaders, companies can share best practices in critical areas such as health/safety, employee retention and recruitment, marketing/communications and other business best practices.
MPW stays abreast of trends in industrial America by joining chambers of commerce in and around many of the company’s 72 locations. Additionally, the company is an active member of the Waterjet Technology Association and other industry groups and conducts regular industry research via trade-show attendance, trade publications, websites and databases. MPW also encourages its employees to share company content and engage in technical discussions in online forums and on social media platforms. Finally, the company uses a learning management system (LMS) to give employees many opportunities for convenient online training with topics that include safety, diversity and relevant computer and equipment functions.
What is your company culture like?
A prime example of MPW’s culture resides within its established yet ongoing dedication to safety. Ever since Monte Black introduced MPW’s first Safety Coin to employees in 2006, they have become integral in the company’s culture.
After employees complete their mandatory safety training, MPW supervisors give them Safety Coins along with instructions to place them in their pockets daily to remind them of their commitment to work safely and in compliance with all policies and procedures. MPW managers routinely ask employees to show their safety coins.
The Safety Coin Program is apparent at all MPW jobsites, including MPW’s corporate locations. Everyone — from technicians to members of the Executive Committee — is always expected to have their safety coin in their possession.
MPW operates following a set of core values. Individually these values hold importance and together they form the present and future foundation of the company. How we work makes MPW different. Employee success can be best articulated and measured through the company’s core values of Customer Service, Drive to Win, Professionalism, Spirit of Family and Continuous Improvement.
What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?
Although MPW’s Corporate Campus is located 28 miles east of the downtown area, the company, with locations in Hebron, Circleville, Newark, and Marysville, relies on Central Ohio for many of its clients and employees. A vibrant, growing, diverse city, Columbus has been a tremendous resource for MPW since the company’s inception in 1972.
