Provide us with a brief summary of your business’ services.

Civitas Marketing is a project-based creative and media agency with deep expertise in experiential marketing, grassroots media and production / fabrication.

Tell us about your company’s mission and values.

At our core, we’re problem solvers. We’re here to provide insight and ingenuity to help grow businesses. Bigger picture, we’re always looking for opportunities to create social impact and strengthen community ties, especially here in Central Ohio.

What are the services you use the most (or are looking forward to using) from the Columbus Chamber?

For us, I think we’re most excited about the business connections, but not in a traditional “networking for sales” kind of way. There is a lot to learn from the business leaders here in the community and each networking opportunity is a chance to listen and learn from each other.

How do you stay engaged with trends that you see in your industry?

Currently our staff is in a work-from-anywhere mode, so we rely heavily on Slack for internal communications. We have several channels set up where we dump articles and posts about our industry. For example, we recently set up a “Covid-19 Marketing Examples” channel so we could see how brands were messaging during the crisis. Additionally, at the beginning of the pandemic we overhauled our live events services so that we could provide the tools and expertise for virtual conferences and events.

What is your company culture like?

We’re a fun, creative group that encourages the passions and hobbies of our team members. We’re made up of a wide range of personalities and interests — from songwriters to rowing instructors to community activists. Oh, and we also have a LOT of dogs (always welcome in the office).

What does it take to be a successful employee at your company?

An open mind, positional flexibility and an ability to listen and adapt are traits shared by our employees. To be successful, we ask that people have the desire to better themselves and work as team players.

What makes Columbus such a great place to do business?

People truly want to help each other here. The level of collaboration and camaraderie is pretty special. In the past decade or so, Columbus has really transformed itself into a world-class city and it’s profile continues to rise as a great place to live and do business. That’s a testament to the business and community leaders that have been laying the groundwork for growth their entire careers. It’s a privilege for us to be a part of that lineage and have a responsibility for continuing the upward trajectory of the city.
