February 9th, 2022
Leading Architecture firm in the Midwest poised for growth in 2022 and beyond.
Columbus, Ohio, February 7, 2022 – M+A Architects is excited to announce the firm’s newest partner, Russ Garber, currently Director of M+A’s Senior Living Studio. This strategic organizational change allows the firm to continue to strengthen, and expand, its ability to serve a growing roster of clients and increase national design presence and skill.
Since joining M+A in 2016, Russ has expanded the Senior Living Studio by 1400%, growing the group from 1 to 15. Through this time, Russ and his team have won multiple national awards recognizing expertise in Senior Living design and focusing on innovation and research, including a published study on the reported impact of lighting on circadian rhythm in seniors. Under Russ’ leadership, in the last 6 years the Senior Living Studio has completed over 100 projects and grossed over 12M in architectural fees.
Effective February 7, 2022 Russ will officially join the team of principals at M+A, bringing new energy and a focus to broaden the firm’s services and sector capabilities.
M+A President Mark Daniels shared, “Having Russ join as a principal at M+A will greatly increase the amount of services we can offer our clients, to best support their success through the solutions and strategies of different design practices, all offered within one firm and built for our clients.”
Russ will serve as a leader, and growth strategist, to further develop the depth of expertise offered in the firm’s 9 sectors and 6 services, now including Experiential Design, Productions, Sustainability, Innovation + Research, and Technical Services.
With three decades in architecture and design, and nearly fifteen years dedicated to Senior Living, Russ has built a reputation, and made a much-deserved name for himself, as one of the most nationally recognized Senior Living design leaders in the country.
With unparalleled passion, his award-winning expertise is only further driven by his dynamic energy, working every day to find ways to make golden years shine. His research in the space of Senior Living and the built environment drives his design, as he redefines expectations and reimagines possibilities, creating spaces for the oldest members of our society rooted in comfort and dignity – while incorporating specific, functional design purposes.
Russ is known to abandon convention, challenging standards to create spaces that add life to people’s days.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Russ is a licensed architect and holds NCARB certification. He is a member of AIA, LeadingAge Ohio, the Ohio Assisted Living Association and the Ohio Health Care Association, as well as being an active member of the housing sub-committee for Age Friendly Columbus.
“Russ’ entrepreneurial roots and energetic spirit will serve our firm, and challenge us to pursue growth and greatness in an entirely new way”, Daniels noted. “We welcome the opportunity for you to have the chance to interact with him, and are confident in the collaborations that are to come as a result of our newest principal.”
