Why I Love Columbus: Opportunity

Columbus Chamber
The Columbus Chamber provides connections, resources and solutions that help small businesses and Fortune 500 enterprises grow Central Ohio's economy.

For our latest installment of “Why I Love Columbus,” we speak with John Rush who is president and CEO of CleanTurn Enterprises.

When I moved from Chicago to Columbus I knew less than ten people in Columbus but could not resist the opportunity to launch CleanTurn Enterprises. The opportunity to leverage CleanTurn Enterprises to launch CleanTurn Demolition Services, She Has A Name Cleaning Services and Passion, Purpose, Profit! Opportunity is as representative of Columbus as buckeyes on game day, bricks on the streets of German Village, and the bike path on the Olentangy River.

Columbus shows this opportunity in different mediums. The opportunity to talk to someone while eating Hot Chicken Takeover. The opportunity to speak about a passion with other passionate citizens at local events such as the Westgate Summer Jam Fest. The opportunity to start a new business like BottomsUp Coffee Co-Op! The opportunity to leverage business for social good.

More pronounced than the opportunities for myself are the opportunities for our TEAM. The opportunity to overcome drug addiction. The opportunity to be set free from human trafficking. The opportunity to become a mother or father. The opportunity not to let one mistake define you and your future forever. The opportunity to change.

These opportunities are all created by Columbus’s unique willingness to trust each other, to support each other, and to love each other. Because an opportunity is not enough if no one takes it or if no one follows through.

I love Columbus for opportunity.
