Local Employers Encouraged to Support Medicare-Age Employees During a Critical Annual Enrollment Season | Shields Up Health
November 5th, 2025
Dublin, OH —With Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) in full swing through December 7, local insurance advisor Kristen Troesch of Shields Up Health is encouraging chamber member businesses to remind their Medicare-age employees and retirees to review their current Medicare coverage — and to do it sooner rather than later.
“This year’s AEP is one of the most important in recent memory,” said Troesch. “Because of changes driven by the Inflation Reduction Act, many Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription plans are being restructured, and some are leaving the market altogether. Employees and retirees who don’t review their plans could find that their coverage or costs will look very different in 2026.”
As a local independent broker, Troesch works with both individuals and employers to help navigate Medicare changes and provide education sessions for employees transitioning to retirement.
“For employers, this is a great time to show support for your Medicare-age staff and retirees,” Troesch added. “Hosting an educational session or making a local advisor available as a resource helps your employees make confident, informed choices — and can reduce HR questions and confusion. Employers can also reach out with questions about compliance regarding their Medicare-age staff, helping ensure they meet regulatory requirements while showing they care about their people.”
Troesch emphasizes that reviewing coverage early in AEP is key, as appointment availability tightens toward the December 7 deadline.
