Spring into History

Celebrate the beginning of the new season with “Spring into History,” a day dedicated to growth, renewal and celebration. Join us for activities throughout the museum, including Easter and Passover celebrations 1890s-style in Ohio Village!

Included with general admission; free for Ohio History Connection members Activities include:

  • Easter egg hunt- Join in an Easter egg scavenger hunt around the village. Those who complete the hunt receive a special prize!
  • Egg Roll – Test your balance in an egg rolling race across the Village green! This activity involves pushing decorated hard-boiled eggs with a stick (weather permitting).
  • Easter Meal – See how an Easter meal would have been prepared in the late 19th century.
  • Natural color dying demonstration – Learn the art and craft of Victorian egg dying, including the use of natural dying techniques.
  • Easter Card Craft- Select a reproduced Easter card hand-tint them yourself!
  • Paper Flower Craft – Celebrate spring by making your own flowers! Add them to a bouquet or wear it home with you!
  • Games on the Green – Enjoy some rousing games of Croquet with Ohio Village residents!
  • Tea Time Celebrations – See how different people in the Village celebrated springtime through the common practice of tea time!
