In today’s information economy, we connect other organizations to our networks. We also share tremendous amounts of information. A key business question that must be answered:
“How do you build a secure network that protects confidential information and also meets compliance requirements?â€
Who should attend this workshop:
Business owners and leaders responsible for managing the electronic connection with customers, vendors, government agencies and all other third party providers with whom you share critical, confidential information.
This information includes:
• Outsourced website hosting and fulfillment services
• Compliance with federal agency grant funding for non-profits (FISMA)
• Credit cardholder data (PCI)
• Health information (HIPAA & PHI)
• Implementation of SOX controls for services provided to publicly traded companies (Sarbanes-Oxley)
• Outsourced data mining for purchasing trends of point of sale data
• Protection of all other confidential data and compliance with governmental regulations and customer requirements
In this workshop, Doug will answer these questions:
• How do we assure the technical trustworthiness of vendors, suppliers, partners, and in some cases customers who connect to our networks or have access to our business?
• How do we protect information we are obligated to protect that we share with third parties?
• How do we do this as efficiently and as effectively as possible?
• How do we do it in a way that grows our business?
• How do we meet third party regulatory compliance requirements?
He will cover the trends, the predictable future, how to apply risk management principles to manage your third party risk, how to manage the additional risk from regulations requiring third party controls and how to build an internal business/technology partnership to manage it all.
