Housing Education for All Campaign Launch Event & Town Hall | Renter Mentor
June 29 @ 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Join us June 29th for a community Town Hall event to boost public awareness of the new housing rights granted to Columbus residents! The doors open at 5:30 PM and the dialogue will lift up voices from throughout our community. Renter Mentor was proud to support the Housing for All package and is honored to join this important discussion with our community.
Central Ohio’s affordable housing crisis is at a tipping point and this deep instability impacts people of color, older adults, and low-income wage earners disproportionately. That’s why, last year, the Columbus City Council passed the Housing for All legislative package to advance equity and fairness through expanded renter protections.
If you’re ready to learn about these new rights and how you can use them to protect your family and your neighborhood, then join Council member Shayla Favor and leaders from across our community for a launch event & Town Hall.
Columbus’ affordable housing crisis is at a tipping point. Whether you’re talking about evictions, homelessness or poverty – housing insecurity disproportionately affects people of color, older people and low-income wage earners. The Housing for All legislative package, led by Columbus City Councilmember Shayla Favor, and passed by City Council in 2021, is focused on dismantling the systems that have perpetuated racism and inequity within housing. While this legislative package is not designed to solve all of our City’s housing challenges, these policies are important tools to help advance the stabilization of families. Keynote by Secretary Marcia Fudge, U.S. Department. of Housing & Urban Development
