In 2007, City of Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman joined with elected officials from 12 other local jurisdictions in developing and signing the Central Ohio Green Pact. The Pact represents a multi-jurisdictional commitment to make our region more sustainable starting with policies that enhance and protect the quality of life, environment and economic vitality. Coordinated by MORPC, the network of Pact members includes 27 local governments and other significant organizations.

The Pact outlines ten general values communities should hold to preserve natural resources, to increase green space, reduce our consumption of raw materials and increase recycling.
