Nov. 7, 2019 – Mid-Ohio Foodbank deliveries are appreciated — by the ton. Just ask the residents of Homeport’s Marsh Run apartment community.
Four times this past summer and fall, residents of Homeport’s flagship community benefited from a Foodbank truck delivering more than 2,000 pounds of fresh produce.
Residents only had to sign in to get bags of fresh oranges, apples, nectarines, peaches, grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe, potatoes, onions, cabbage, lettuce, cabbage and squash, and tomatoes.
“The food is meant for people in need, but nobody is turned away,” said Homeport Resident Services Coordinator Mark Childs. “Besides Marsh Run residents, the food drops are open to the general community.” Each of the drops helped feed 80 families.
