Achieving Pay Equity in Columbus

Columbus Chamber
The Columbus Chamber provides connections, resources and solutions that help small businesses and Fortune 500 enterprises grow Central Ohio's economy.

To elevate the conversation and tackle the issue of pay inequity the Columbus Women’s Commission launched a voluntary pay equity commitment in 2017, called The Columbus Commitment.

The Columbus Commitment: Achieving Pay Equity asks companies and organizations to commit to learn about the gender pay gap; understand how race and other factors create even larger disparities; analyze the gaps within their organizations; and take action to build awareness of the unique challenges facing women in the workplace. As of October 2019, over 217 local employers have signed on to the Columbus Commitment.  We know that in order to make impact, we need the Columbus community working together. This commitment brings companies and organizations of all sizes and across sectors together to learn and bring about change on an important issue impacting a large portion of our workforce.

Creating gender equitable workplaces and policies in which women are supported is not only the right thing to do, but has been shown to increase companies’ bottom lines and productivity. Together, we can change the story for women, families and our entire community in Columbus.

We hope you’ll join us in signing The Columbus Commitment: Achieving Pay Equity.
