Columbus—May 29, 2019
The Center for Balanced living is excited to announce that our Board of Directors has appointed Cheryl (Cheri) Ryland, LISW-S as its new President and CEO effective May 29, 2019. Cheri was one of the founders of The Center and has served in a range of leadership roles at The Center during the past 18 years including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Her excellent work in these roles was honored with the Columbus Business First C-Suite award in 2015. She is a licensed independent social worker and member of the Academy of Eating Disorders who earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and her master’s degree in social work from Washington University. Her dedication to The Center and its mission in our community makes her the natural choice to lead The Center into the future.
Cheri notes that “The Center for Balanced Living was born out of a need to keep access to eating disorder services in Columbus, Ohio at a time when previous services were closing. It was an emotional and trying time experiencing the loss of care for those whose very life depended on this specialized treatment. I have been committed and dedicated to The Center’s success from the beginning, serving the past 18 years. I am ready and grateful for the opportunity to take the leadership reigns as President and CEO determined that Central Ohio will never again be without services for eating disorders”
The Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Cheryl in the role of President/CEO. “Cheryl has years of experience and passion for the eating disorder community. She possesses the requisite skills to help elevate the role of The Center in Central Ohio and beyond. We look forward to her leadership and energy” notes Scott Caine, President of the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors would like to thank to Kelly Trautner, Esq. for her leadership of The Center during her time as President and CEO. Kelly transitioned from this role on May 10th.
